News – Mosaic Chain

Last week, Paseo, the Polkadot community testnet, announced that its current relay chain would be retired and replaced with a new one. As a result, the Mosaic Chain development team had to complete the necessary migration work to ensure the Devnet could continue operating without interruption.

Over the past few days, the development team has been focused on preparing for and executing the migration. As part of this effort, they successfully completed all the technical changes required to transition to the new Paseo Relay chain.

The migration was completed successfully. The Devnet is now running on the new Relay chain, while preserving both the chain state and its complete transaction history. This ensures continuity of the development environment, allowing development work to continue seamlessly.

It is important to note that the new Paseo Relay chain does not behave identically to its predecessor in every respect. Some network parameters, such as the block time, have changed, making its behavior less closely aligned with the Polkadot Relay chain. As a result, some features or processes may behave differently.

The related node updates are being rolled out automatically, and the required  update is  expected to reach all Devnet nodes within the next few days. Until then, some nodes may not yet be fully up to date, but this will not affect the continuity or overall operation of the network.
