Mosaic Democracy

The Mosaic Democracy application is now available at mainnet-democracy.mosaicchain.io, where anyone can get an insight into how blockchain-based decision-making works – even before its final implementation on the chain.

And the first vote is coming soon.

The platform provides an environment that models the mechanisms that will later be implemented on the chain. In the current version, Mosaic Chain Council members can call for votes and Mosaic Chain Validators can participate in the voting.

A key element of the system is that the submission of votes is tied to a cryptographic signature with the validators’ wallets, so the process is technically consistent with how it will work later on the blockchain.

The goal of our now completed development is to provide a practical opportunity to try out community decision-making and understand and practice the related processes. The interface makes it clear how the majority opinion is formed and what operating patterns appear in such a system.

Anyone can view the ongoing and closed votes on the site, and votes can be cast after connecting the validator wallet by clicking on the icon next to the selected option. Approval in the wallet provider (SubWallet or Polkadot) application is required to submit the vote!
