Default Validator Commission Rate Updated on the Mosaic Chain

Following a vote on the Mosaic Democracy platform, the majority of validators supported setting the default validator commission rate to 10%.

The new default commission rate was introduced on the Mosaic Chain through a runtime upgrade. As part of this change, the default commission rate was updated from 1% to 10% for validators who had not previously configured a custom commission rate. Validators who had already set their own commission rate were not affected, and their custom settings remain unchanged.

It is important to note that this change does not affect existing delegation contracts. The new default commission rate applies only to delegations created after the runtime upgrade.

This update gives validators greater flexibility in defining their commission strategy while also creating a more balanced competitive environment. Starting from a 10% default commission, validators remain free to lower or increase their commission rate, allowing them to better adapt to market conditions and offer more competitive terms to delegators.
